LAN Airlines FSX Airbus A321 Repaint by David Hall

Installation:

1. Copy the entire folder "Texture.LAN" and paste into the FSX "Airbus_A321" folder (default path is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Airbus_A321).

2. Add the following entry to the Airbus A321 Aircraft.CFG file (located inside the Airbus_A321 folder), replacing the X in [fltsim.X] with the next available number.

[fltsim.X]
title=Airbus A321 LAN Airlines
sim=Airbus_A321
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=LAN
kb_checklists=AirbusA321_check
kb_reference=AirbusA321_ref
atc_id=
atc_airline=
atc_flight_number=
ui_manufacturer="Airbus"
ui_type="A321"
ui_variation="LAN Airlines"
ui_typerole="Commercial Airliner"
ui_createdby="Microsoft Corporation"
description="The Airbus A321 is a stretched version of Airbus’ best-selling short- and medium-range A320. The A321 has a slightly increased wing area, stronger landing gear with larger tires, and engines with increased thrust. When the A321 entered service in 1988, it pioneered the use of “glass cockpit” instrumentation, the first digital fly-by-wire control system used in an airliner, and sidestick controllers."

And that's it. Enjoy.

Notes About the Texture:

1. I have not given this texture a fixed registration marking as it is not based on any particular LAN aircraft.
Indeed, as far as I know, LAN uses only A320's, not 321's.

2. The colour gradient effect on the tail, just like the real aircraft, is achieved by using a number of stripes of alternating colour and thickness.
The stripes were prepared as vector shapes, correctly oriented top-to-bottom on the tail. However, when rasterised to the final texture resolution,
the stripes appear diagonal. This is an effect of the resolution of the texture, and is actually not unrealistic. A similar effect occurs as you view the
real tail from increasing distances, until, just as with this texture, the srtipes can no longer be resolved, and the colour appears as a smooth gradient.
The point of this paragraph is to explaination why the tail stripes appear diagonal, and to head-off any nit-picking comments to the effect of "you've got the strips in the wrong direction".
